Who is Cascadia Kids Occupational Therapy?

Kaitlyn Tosh, OTR/L

Hi, I'm Kaitlyn!

I am both owner and occupational therapist at Cascadia Kids Occupational Therapy. I’ve been surrounded by Occupational Therapy (OT) my whole life. My mom is an OT that owns and operates a clinic of her own in Ashland, OR, which is where I learned how essential and truly life-changing this work is for young patients and their families. Seeing how a passionate and engaged therapist can change lives, I pursued a career in OT. I have spent the last 6 years living in Pocatello, Idaho- where I completed my master’s degree at Idaho State University. Shortly after graduating, I started a pediatric therapy clinic collaborating with a speech therapist colleague. I found that patient goals were best met when parents were involved and open for collaboration- since no two children are the same. I personally love the game of finding new and exciting ways to engage with kids during therapy!

More about me

I have continued my education by studying primitive reflex integration and its importance in development and function within the nervous system. I also have a strong interest in self-regulation/emotional regulation, and social awareness skills. Something else I emphasize in my practice is educating and collaborating with parents/guardians to make therapy more relevant to the patient. I want to give families a greater understanding of OT so they can make informed and educated decisions about their child’s healthcare.

When I am not working in the clinic, I love spending time outside and being creative. I enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing, and genuinely just love being outdoors and sharing it with others!
